Dives offers a full range of scuba diving courses from beginner
to Instructor level.
The British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) is recognized
throughout the world. We offer students a safe learning environment.
We also offer a wide range of choice dive sites which is unmatched.
Diving is not only easy, but also very safe. There are a number
of ways to become a certified diver. Introductory scuba diving
courses, as well as advanced and skill development courses
are run throughout the year. The schedule of training is flexible
and is set up on the first day of the course so as to be convenient
for the diver.

current exchange rate in your country. Prices are subject

The price of all courses includes:

BSAC
Ocean Diver.
As
a certified BSAC Ocean Diver, you will be qualified to rent
scuba equipment and dive with a buddy without the need of
an Instrcutor. The practical sessions of the course consist
of 5 training dives in a swimming pool or swimming pool like
conditions and 5 experience dives in the open sea. The academic
sessions of the course consist of 5 lectures by your instructor
on scuba diving. At the end of your course you sit a multiple
choice exam. The minimum duration of the course is 5 full
days.
The
course is supported by the use of the BSAC Ocean Diver Study
Book and the BSAC Sports Diving Manual and video. The Pool
or "confined water" sessions are completed in the
safe confines of a pool or sheltered corner of a bay. Here
you practice using the equipment and the various diving techniques
including basic lifesaving. The Ocean Dives are performed
under the watchful eye of your BSAC Instructor who will ask
you to repeat some of the exercises you practiced in the pool.
The BSAC Ocean Diver Pack is required. (current cost UK 40)
This
consists of a study book, qualification record book, and the
BSAC Sports Diving manual, a standard reference book for this
level .

Ocean Diver Referral.
As BSAC has an international training system
you are able to do the initial parts of the course at a club
or dive center in your country. Then complete the open water
sessions of the course with Dawn Dives in Malta.

Scuba Review
Are
you a certified diver, but haven't been in the water lately?
Are you looking to refresh your dive skills and knowledge?
Then this is your chance.
The practical sessions of the course consist of 1 training
dive in a swimming pool and 1 open water dive in the sea.
The classrooom session of the course consists of a presentation
by your instructor on equipment, theory and dive tables. The
minimum duration of the course is 1 day.

BSAC Sports Diver.
After
your Sports Diver certification course, you will want to progress
and gain your Sports Diver Certification. The Sports Diver
Award is the BSAC's second diving grade. Following the completion
of a series of Classroom Lessons, Sheltered Water Lessons,
Open Water Lessons and a Dry Practical Lesson, the award of
Sports Diver prepares the diver to extend their diving experience
to dives down to a maximum depth of 35m. Sports Diver also
expands the theory knowledge and teaches additional skills.
Particular attention is given to decompression, the decompression
tables and to rescue techniques. There are 5 additional open
water dives.The duration of the course is 5 full days.

BSAC
Dive Leader.
The
Dive Leader Award is the BSAC's third diving grade awarded
within a Branch or Centre. Following the completion of a series
of Classroom Lessons, Open Water Lessons and Dry Practical
Lessons, the award of Dive Leader prepares the diver to lead
less experienced divers to extend their diving experience
and to manage branch diving activities to known locations.
The course is split into 2 parts part one concentrates on
gaining the necessary skills whereas part 2 is focussed on
building on the diver's in water and depth experience.
Definition of a Dive Leader:
- Can
plan and lead a range of dives including those requiring
detailed dive, breathing gas and decompression requirements
planning.
- Has
the skill and level of knowledge to progressively extend
their skills to take part in a wide range of adventurous
dives
- Has
rescue management skills.
- Is
competent to manage and supervise branch dives to locations
well known to the branch, or using experienced skippers,
or in conditions not normally described as 'challenging'.
- Can
dive to a depth which is initially limited to 35m, but which
can subsequently be extended progressively to a maximum
of 50m.
Can conduct dives with divers of any grade, to expand their
experience beyond that previously encountered by those divers,
under the supervision of a Dive Manager .
- Can
conduct experience building dives with trainee Ocean Divers,
within the restrictions of the conditions already encountered
by the trainee Ocean Diver, and under the supervision of
a Dive Manager.

Advanced Diver
The
Advanced Diver Award is the BSAC's highest diving grade awarded
within a Branch or Centre. Following the completion of a series
of Classroom Lessons, Open Water Lessons and Dry Practical
Lessons, the Advanced Diver course prepares the diver to manage
all branch diving activities to both known and unknown locations.

Skill Development Courses
As
far continuing education goes you can choose various amounts
of Skill Development courses. Achieving Skill Development
ratings can take from as little as one day to a full weekend,
but this is all hands-on, so you'll be diving right from the
start.
Skill development courses are designed for divers and cover
topics that you will find useful for your future dive planning.
The courses include Oxygen Administration, Chart work, Enriched
Air Nitrox diving, Boat Handling, Tides and Weather amongst
others.
