Rewarding and fun. This level of diving education takes you one step further up the PADI ranks. You are introduced for the first time to a course which takes you beyond the recreational level of scuba diving. This course will expand your knowledge and experience level: Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.
Please note that to apply for Rescue Diver training, you must provide proof that you have followed a first aid and CPR course within the past 3 years. Alternatively you can follow an Emergency First Responder course prior to starting the Rescue Diver course.

The practical sessions of the course consist of 5 open water sessions in which 12 dive rescue exercises are conducted. These rescue exercises include:

1. Assistance while swimming
2. Panicked diver response and underwater problems
3. In-water artificial respiration
4. First aid procedures for pressure related accidents
5. Diving accident scenarios

The theory sessions consist of 5 presentations and video sessions. A multiple choice exam on dive rescue and diving first aid as well as emergency management and equipment considerations must be taken before certification.
